The Institute is supported by the IIFS Foundation. Sponsors are both
companies and individuals (e.g. Tax Consultants, Auditors, Judges, Finance
Officials) who are interested in financial and tax issues.
As a member of the IIFS Foundation you will profit in a number of ways.
You will have access to the library in Sedanstrasse 19 (4th floor) where
you will find Germany’s most comprehensive collection of literature
on International Tax Law, International Corporate Tax Law and International
Finance. The library is used by people from the whole of Germany and from
abroad and has ample space for studying the literature.
As a member of the IIFS Foundation you will be given free entrance to
lectures and will receive the “International Taxation Pamphlets”
which contain transcripts of guest speaker’s talks which are held
regularly by the IIFS. You will also receive discounted admission to the
“Hamburg International Taxation Conference”, which is organised
by the German Union for International Tax Law”. This event takes
place every year on the first Friday in December at the Hamburg Chamber
of Commerce and Industry. The papers given are printed as a conference
volume, which forms part of the series “Forum of International Taxation”,
published by Dr. Otto Schmidt. The price of this volume is included in
the conference fees. Members of the IIFS Foundation receive a copy of
this volume even if they do not take part in the Masters programme.
The minimum contribution for membership of the
IIFS Foundation is €80 for individuals and €250 for companies.
A receipt can be made out to certify a charitable donation. The IIFS Foundation
devotes itself exclusively to non-profit making activities (Articles
of Association). It supports the Institute library, awards scholarships,
provides help with dissertation printing costs, and is used to equip the
Institute (especially IT-related).
