German companies are becoming increasingly involved in foreign markets.
This trend changes their tax situation significantly. In order to be
successful abroad, a company must ensure that the level of foreign exposure
to tax and cross-border tax jurisdiction issues are appreciated and that
commercial strategies are developed to take account of the consequences.
This area of the Tax Institute concentrates on problems of International
Taxation and builds a bridge between researchers and practitioners by
addressing those questions which have been shown in practice to be of
particular importance, and by researching them in further detail.
The Chair of International Corporate Taxation is held by Professor Dr.
Dietmar Wellisch, StB. Links between researchers and practitioners are
strong due to Professor Wellisch’s close cooperation with tax professionals
and his coordination of practical projects which investigate specific national
and international taxation issues. Furthermore, Professor Wellisch is a
member of an academic advisory committee to the German Ministry of Finance. |
